and Credit Department
The Finance and Credit Department of V.N. Karazin
Kharkiv National University was founded in 1966. In the course of its
existence, over 2500 professionals have been trained, and after graduation they
have been working successfully in different fields of our economy – financing,
banking and taxation; in production associations, insurance and investment
companies, state and commercial enterprises.
There function post-graduate and doctoral
studies at the faculty, and the specialized academic council which was created
in order to prepare highly skilled specialists in finance, money circulation
and credit. The Department graduates have defended their Ph.D. and doctoral
theses. They teach basic finance and banking courses in a number of leading
Ukrainian institutes of higher education, hold positions of financial
directors, managers in commercial banks and department heads in organizations
and companies.
Highly qualified teachers work at the
department, two of them are Doctors of Economics (Professors) and nine are
assistant professors, five senior teachers and two teachers. Since 1966, P.I. Verba,
Professor and Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine had headed the Department. At the
modern stage, the Department is headed by V.V. Glushchenko, Professor, Doctor
of Economics and Academician of the International Academy of Computer Science
and Technologies. Gifted young people who have scientific and practical
experience are recruited at the Department.
